Introduction

The Belgian School of Kigali (Ecole Belge de Kigali, EBK) was opened in 1965 and recently celebrated its 50 years anniversary.

It serves children from the first Maternelle Class to the sixth class of Secondary School.

Our school strives to educate and develop the autonomy of our children within a unique multicultural setting, and to encourage our pupils to actively be involved in their own education.

Our goal is to support all students, regardless of their cultural and academic background to adapt, learn and evolve, to ultimately be able to achieve skills defined by the French Community of Belgium.  Our teachers are fully qualified to be able to support the children reaching these goals.

Our curriculum respects and reflects the Belgian curriculum whilst taking into account, supporting and reflecting the children’s current environment.  We are determined to Include and integrate the ‘Rwanda factor’ within our education system.
