In accordance with the Decree-Missions (1997), the teaching organized by the French Community of Belgium (Wallonia-Brussels Federation), and therefore by the Belgian School of Kigali, pursues four general priority objectives and successively tackles various facets of education. young people, from the implementation of the principles of democracy to the orientation towards further studies, passing of course by the acquisition of knowledge and skills (see useful documents: Educational and pedagogical projects).
Secondary education offers a "general humanities" type of education and, at the end of the 6 years of study, issues the Certificate of Higher Secondary Education (CESS) validating access to higher education, university or not.
A General Regulation of Studies and Rules of Internal Order (see useful documents) provide a framework for schooling and life in general.
The schedules are divided into three levels (one degree includes two years of study); 1st degree, modern language choice I and 4 hours of complementary activities; 2nd degree, maintaining the choice of modern language I, choice of modern language II and other options or activities; 3rd degree (impossibility of change between 5th and 6th), maintaining the choice of the two modern languages and choice of various options (mathematics, science, economics ...). After the spring break, each student must make their choice of options for the next school year
